’a camera will never lie about how you feel inside.’ 2019 trip to Turkey, images were burned with light leaks from a deflective camera. after years of despise, they’ve been revisited with written personal messages of my mother’s parents, my mother’s feelings the days her parents passed, journal entries from our trip to turkey and the poems written during that time. a measure of time in between these moments captured and when those notes were written. a connection to grandparents I never had the chance to meet. to begin loving moments and ideas of home that do not exist in the world as you read this.

Since 2018, Designer Max Friedman and I started to journal the neighborhood of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, NYC. The 260 page book explores concepts of home, dissimilation, coexistence, an everlasting sense of change, and how these themes can transform a small neighborhood into an artifact of preservation.

All profits from Things You Know book went towards creating a 6-week film photography program with Launch Charter School in Crown Heights, culminating in a gallery exhibition of student photographs at the Weeksville Heritage Museum.
